Summer knitting

With all the genealogy my knitting has taken a hit I do have a few things to add to the blog but not the usual stash of items. As always there have been socks on the needles. Socks are just the easiest things to tote around, coffee with friends, camping, waiting for an appointment they're always handy in my purse. But this summer I got caught up in the baby blanket fiasco... You may remember the cream colored baby blanket I knit earlier this summer. It is beautiful and was supposed to take 16 ounces of yarn. Because I have no idea who this blanket is for I wanted to use acrylic yarn and there was a sale on Caron one pound four ply. As I got closer and closer to the end of this blanket I realized there wasn't enough yarn, so off to JoAnn Fabrics I went. (Sweet Pea Baby Blanket by Suzanne Middlebrooks Yarn: Caron One POund Colorway: Cream Needle Size: US Size 9) When I was there I decided to buy the one pound cream, which was way to much, and a lovely one pound

Summer visit

The grandkiddos are getting older and it's getting harder and harder for them to slip in a visit between summer jobs, team camps, and opens gyms. But after a summer of camp counselor, a broken foot and four extracted wisdom teeth, Chloe came for a couple weeks of recouping and visit. We were incredibly laid back, just reading, playing cards, and I even got Chloe into a bit of genealogy on line searching. The week went fast and soon we were meeting Kate in Bozeman for lunch and a "Chloe exchange." We were surprised to be part of a kitty adoption and Kate is now a kitty mother of two! So Chloe was able to play with the new kitten for a week and I had a surprise last bit of time with her the next weekend when her plane was delayed and we stopped for a pre-Griz game visit. Her Aunt Kate and I both loved the visit - Kitten too!

Busy summer with genealogy

It's been a while since my last post. I've been working hard on identifying over 700 of Hubby's family's photos. Most are from 1890 to 1935. This quest began the end of May when one of Hubby's cousins contacted me and asked if I knew who had the family photos.  I had many and invited her to come and look at them. However, when I started pulling them out I soon realized the treasure I had forgotten.  My mother-in-law was the last of 10 siblings and I believe when the last two siblings died their spouse gave her family photos. Our work was cut out for us. Hubby digitized the photos and cleaned them up as best as possible. Then Dena and I have worked hard to identify people. I'm hoping the best way to share the photos is to post them on internet and so I've created a new blog:  Aztec Brewers.blogspot.com Many of the original photos were taken by an unknown amateur photographer. There are other similar photos in the hands of a second cousin once remove b
