Wish we could just skip March 2020

I would have liked to just skip the month of March altogether but realize it just isn't possible. I think the month we have just lived through may have changed our lives forever... While we were still in Hawaii, it seems very distant but was only a month ago, the Hawaiian news stations were filled with discussions of Corona Virus (yes, it had that name at the time). They had discovered their first two cases on the islands and were trying to be pro active. The population was told, among other things, to use hand sanitizer, wash their hands, to stay six feet away from others, and have two weeks groceries in their homes.  Just by following these "rules" we learned in Hawaii, we were already two weeks ahead of the mainland, shocking! But as the mainland began to understand they weren't going to escape this virus we began to understand it was going to be a longer journey than just two weeks. I sent out some advice to the daughters and when the minimalist daughter used

Received this in the mail today...

To little to late, orange man.

Example of Covid-19 Brain...

I've been knitting socks for many years. This has never happened to me and if it had I NEVER would have left them this way.  They would have been ripped out down to the heel! But now,  life's just to short to worry about a pair of socks!!  Pattern: A Study in Helical Knitting Yarn: Cascade Yarns, Schachenmayr Regia 4 fadig Colorway: Indigo Violet, 39721 Needle Size: US Size 1

2020 baby quilt #2

I was happy to make a quilt for a little baby boy who will be born in ND in May. Hope to get it to the NorDakPurlGirl soon. The baby's room is going to be decorated in foxes. I had the blue flannel on hand. I went to the fabric store before social distancing to find cotton fox print and other color coordinated fabric. A book I read recently said to buy five different types of print for a quilt, large scale print with multiple colors (fox print), striped (gray), dotted (blue), almost solid (orange), small scale (orange swirls). I think it worked quite well. I bought a half a yard or each and think I'll me able to make another in a different pattern.

Almost got to Ireland Sock #4

I was knitting these socks for one of the four guys who were going to be traveling to Ireland with me. Unfortunately the trip was canceled. Fortunately it was canceled before we left! Pattern: Slip Stitch Fun Yarn: Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks That Rock, Cascade Heritage Colorway: Welcome to the jungle, autumn Needle Size: US Size 1
