A warm shalanket for cold winter night

Earlier this winter I attempted to knit a large shawl to keep me warm during the cold, cold winter evenings. It was  a nice shawl but just not as big as I wanted it ti be. Then earlier this June I spent several cold rainy days chilled, so I decided to knit a REALLY big shawl and wanted to see just what the mandala yarn would do on this ripple pattern.  It is a beauty but 3 skeins of yarn in a shawl is a lot!  Pattern: Revontuli-huivi (Northern Lights) by AnneM Yarn: Lion Brand Mandala Colorway: Chimera Needle size: US Size 8 The finished project is nice but I must remember how the acrylic rolls at the edge. I bought some very pretty wooden beads to try to weigh it down on the edges.

A beautiful wedding in the Seeley Swan

A fun fact: If you live Hawaii, the perfect destination wedding is Montana! My niece, her new husband, and many family and friends began arriving a day or two before the wedding. Glacier Park was nearby and several couples went river rafting. First time visitors to Montana wanted to see a grizzly bear, (none sighted but a moose did make an appearance) and no one was put off by the cooler temperatures and occasional rain showers.   It was a beautiful wedding weekend.

Stash Dash 2018!

Still knitting Christmas socks but have been waiting to finish them for Stash Dash. This year I'm knitting the 10K and my entry number is lucky number 50! I've been waiting for just the right entry number and decided 50 was it.... The year of my 50th birthday, the gals and I went to a James Taylor concert. We’d bought the tickets WAY before Open House at school was posted and when the Superintendent announced the date we thought we were out the tickets BUT when she heard of the conflict, she changed the Open House date. One sweet boss and my lucky day! Garden Update

The yellow iris have begun to bloom...  And I'm trying something else in the wheelbarrow this year. The succulents just weren't working and hope the impatiens will do better in the shade of the tree.

Happy Birthday Polly!

Today Polly Pickett has been in our lives for an entire year! She is the sweetest little kitty ever. Always purring, and humming at us for attention. An endearing trick she has is to run ahead of us as we go from room to room and then flop down in the entryway, doing somersaults and begging for a little loving. She recently has been asking to go out the front door,  so I put her in a harness and on a leash allowing her to take ME for walks! She now sits in front of the door whenever she sees the harness and is quite happy to wear it. It's taken about a year but Polly and Denali are getting along and even have a morning chase around the house. Polly never knew there was a problem but Denali lost her kingdom last June and now doesn't rule anywhere but under the bed and is just beginning to understand Polly is here to stay.
