New baby coming in the family

Over the summer we received the news that Hubby's nephew and wife will be having their second child in December. It's been a while since I've had a baby t knit for and so the first thing I knit was a Christmas hat for baby Michael to wear home from the hospital.

Because the family will be living in cold, cold Williston, North Dakota I thought Michael should have a warm wool sweater so I knit the cutest little sweater out of sock yarn. This sweater will be wooly warm and with the 80%wool/20% nylon it can be washed and dried in the machine without fear of shrinking.

Colorway: Laos

I ran across a sock pattern which is supposed to stay on little baby feet so thought I'd give them a try with leftover sock yarn. Again by using the 80%/20% sock yarn these little socks can go into the washer and dryer without fear of shrinking.
