Happy Birthday Polly!

Little Polly Pickett is two years old! This lovely kitty as been a wonderful addition to the family. I love how she cuddles up next to me every night and purrs the night away. Finally she and Denali are friends and they chase each other around the house at least once a day.

Birthday girls!

Today is Sadie and Denali's birthdays. (I hope the beloved granddaughter is still tickled they share a birthday) Denali is even more Hubby's cat than in the past. She hardly looks at me. She will sit on his lap for hours and NEVER sits on my lap. When hungry, she only begs him for food. When lonely, only wants his attention. Hubby totally indulges her and will keep the window open for her to sit in even when the snow flies. Denali 5 years old today!

Traveling socks

There is nothing like knitting while traveling! It's such an easy way to pass the time in the terminal and keep your mind off the sick passenger next to you! Escape to California!

It had been many months since I'd seen the California Dreamin' Crew and I was happy to leave Montana's chilling cold for a visit this month. I was so caught up looking at the beautiful spring flowers, I took very few pictures of my favorite "sprouts."  Bri and I spent a Saturday re-potting her succulents. It was great getting my hands dirty digging in the dirt again! The Oakland teachers were on strike the week I visited.  More visiting time since there was no school for the kids. BUT there was plenty of homework! We walked to Bake Sale Betty's one day for her famous chicken sandwiches and we another day we hopped on Bart and headed into San Francisco for an escape room adventure.  We escaped the Looney Bin just in time! Before I knew it I was back home shoveling snow! This February gave us the third largest amount of snow in recorded history.

February socks

I belong to a group who make socks every month. Every month there is a different theme. This month the theme was "cables." I have knit so many socks I think I could knit the basic pattern in my sleep so I decided to make this sock a bit challenge. I pulled out my Treasury of Knitting Patterns by Barbara G. Walker and began to look at various stitch patterns. I used a double and mock cable out of the book, wrote out the pattern and went to work. Pattern: The Great Grape Ape Socks by Emptyknitster Yarn: Cascade Colorway: Needle Size: US Size 1 It was a fun task and I already have an idea for next month's theme based on TV, Book, or Movie. It's Top Cat, Being the cat lover I am this cartoon was a must watch every week.
