She persisted and Chloe protested!

CaliforniaDreamin’ Daughter loved her “Nevertheless” hat and so I wanted the CaliforniaDreamin’ Granddaughter to have a hat for her protesting adventures too! Pattern: She Protested by Mary Annarella Yarn: Patons North America Kroy Socks 4 ply Colorway: Winter Eclipse, hot pink Needle Size: US Size 1

#1 of 22....

Recently, I got a SCREAMING deal on yarn from Little Knits of Seattle Washington. I might have bought 22 skeins of sock yarn (shhh, don't tell Hubby!). The service was outstanding and I'll be buying more - for sure. Pattern: Vanilla Socks with Fish Lips Kiss Heels Yarn: Regia Arnie and Carlos Colorway: TInn Needle Size US Size 1

Another touchdown with these Super Bowl socks

I couldn’t knit anything too difficult during the Super Bowl, so I started vanilla socks during the Super Bowl. Great game and great pair of socks!   Pattern: Vanilla Socks with Fishlips Kiss Heels Yarn: Regia 4-fadig Colorway: 02265 Denim Needle Size: US Size 1

YOU GO GIRLS!

She was warned. She was given  an explanation. Nevertheless, she persisted. (Thank you Elizabeth Warren) The California Dreamin’ Daughter said she loved this saying and I knew she needed the quote emblazoned on a hat for her next protest. Pattern: Nevertheless She Persisted Hat by January One Knits Yarn: Cascade 220 and Noro Kureyon Colorway: Black and Olive Turquoise Amount: Less than a skein each Needle Size: US Size 7

Zoey socks for the Birthday Gurl!

I hope The Chick loves these socks as much as I do! I added a tail on the heel, 'cause you never know if Zoey is coming or going! Pattern: YinYang Ankle Socks by Geena Garcia (Adapted), Fish Lips Kiss Heel Yarn: Cascade Yarns Heritage Tonal, Knit Picks Stroll-Hand Dyed Colorway: Green, Jo's Bliss Amount: Less than one skein Needle Size: US Size 1 I thought The Chick might enjoy a more traditional sock with a Kitty on the toe. The body of the sock is knit in a 2x1 broken rib. Also, it's been a cold winter and The Chick has been leaving for work in the wee hours of the morning, not returning home until late. She needs a warm noggin'! So I knit her a wool hat just hoping she will use it... Pattern: Anna by Amanda Reed Yarn: Paton's Classic Wool Worsted Colorway: Dark Gray Amount: 1 skein Needles: US 6 and 7- NOT the ones called for (we genetically have big heads and need a little extra stretch!)

Trying a little quilting...

I caught the bug and thought I'd give quilting a try on my beloved sewing machine, "Betty Singer." Kinda liked it, so Sadie and I made twelve Christmas placemats and coasters for the holidays but I forgot to take pictures before packing them away... I had some leftover material and a new book, Quilt As-You-Go, which I'd received as a Christmas gift. I was going to "just try one square"...  I had a blast, and finished it this afternoon! I'm starting another this weekend!

CaliforniaDreamin'

I've been for a walk  On a winter's day  I'd be safe and warm... If I had a pair of these socks! I just  finished another pair of Berkeley socks. This time I thought I'd only use yarn with bits of green. They look like lucky socks to me! Pattern: Vanilla Socks with a Fish Lips Kiss Heel Yarn: 80/20% Wool /Nylon Amount: Bits and Pieces Needles: US Size 1
